AccelByte Served Over 17M Gamers in 2023

It’s no secret that we partner with great game studios and publishers in our industry. Whether it’s a studio staffed by industry vets like Dreamhaven or newcomers to the VR space like AEXLAB, we work with studios of all shapes and sizes. Our partners trust us to support their backend so they can focus on what matters, making the games we love.

2023 was a blockbuster year for the gaming industry. With game industry definers like Baldur’s Gate 3, Alan Wake, and Tears of the Kingdom releasing all in one year, it’s easy to forget just how many games get released every year. In 2023 over 14,000 games were released on Steam alone.

AccelByte understands the importance of successful launches for our clients. Years of hard work and dedication all come down to one launch. It can make or break your game, and ensure its success for the long haul. We work closely with game developers to accelerate and scale their games with a fraction of the resources and headcount they might need.

A Recap of 2023

In 2023 AccelByte served over 17M unique gamers across all titles we support. We supported some great customer launches this year.

In March, Deceive Inc. by Sweet Bandits Studios and published by Tripwire Presents launched. AccelByte helped speed up its development by sending latency data, passing certifications, getting day-one DLC across all platforms, syncing entitlements, tracking legal agreements, making data-driven decisions, and more.

In July we supported Telltale in the release of its first episode of “The Expanse: A Telltale Series”. You can play it now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, or PC via Epic or Steam!

Another July release we supported was the early access launch of Coreborn, with AccelByte, Blankhans could focus developer resources on building the game's unique world and mechanics rather than the backend.

In August Saints Row launched on Steam after being an Epic exclusive. In September Saints Row was featured on PlayStation Plus bringing thousands of new players into the game.

In October we helped Sensorium SG early access launch Sensorium Galaxy, a VR concert experience in outer space.

In December, Omeda Studios began its closed beta on PlayStation for Predecessor as part of the efforts to bring the game cross-platform.

We also continue supporting titles from past years welcoming new and old players alike.

Across our live environments, we welcomed over 13M new players across over 34M game sessions. Our highest DAU (Daily Active Users) for a single game was 1.3M. Adjacent to Peak CCU, we look to Peak Hourly Active Players for measuring stability. We had 350k PHAU.

2024 will be bigger

We are excited to keep working with our partners on their games as they get ready to release in 2024 and beyond across all platforms and devices. When our partners are successful we are successful.

There’s a lot to look forward to this year. If you’re curious about how AccelByte can accelerate your game to launch faster, sign up for a demo today.
